Basic Photography

Did you just get a camera and are overwhelmed by the 200 page Owner’s Manual? Don’t know an F-Stop from a door stop? This is the class for you. Learn the basic camera controls and techniques to get the most out of your camera. We will talk about the camera types, film type, camera controls, exposure, available light shooting and more. We will cover traditional film photography as well as digital. Bring your 35mm or digital camera and manual to the first class as well as your questions. Cameras capable of manual setting are preferred. Point and shoot cameras are not recommended.

Intermediate Photography

This class will be a continuation of Basic Photography in which we will review the basics and go from there. Traditional (film) as well as digital photography techniques will be covered. Learn about lighting composition, digital imaging, setting up a digital darkroom and more. Bring your camera and owner’s manual to the first class. Prerequisite: Basic Photography or equivalent experience.

Fun with Photoshop

Using Adobe Photoshop CS3, you will explore the world of digital editing. We will start from the beginning and learn how to get your photos off the camera and into the computer. Basic photo editing including cropping, selections, color changes, layers, adding text, photo restoration and digital makeovers will be covered in this class. All info will apply to Adobe Photoshop Elements. If you already have your photos on CDs please bring these to class. A jump drive is useful to save your work. Prerequisite: Basic computer skills required.
