Reporting Absences

When your child is absent from school, we ask that you call our attendance line rather than the school’s main number. You may leave messages on this line regarding your child’s absence as well as any homework requests.

The attendance line phone number is 572-7170. Please call before 9:30 a.m.

State your child’s name.

State the grade.

State the reason for absence and a number where you can be reached.

Lastly, state your name.

For the safety of your child, if we have not received a call from you, we will contact all of the emergency contact numbers listed n your child’s Pupil Emergency Card. Please also call in afternoon kindergarten absences in the morning.

Pre-Arranged Absence

When a parent or guardian feels it is necessary to initiate an absence from school for a prearranged situation, please advise the classroom teacher in advance. If the absence will be for more than four days, the parent or guardian must obtain and complete the Strongsville City Schools Pre-Arranged Absence Form from the school office or download one from the link below. A pre-planned absence form must be submitted at least five (5) days prior to the first day of the planned absence. Missed assignments throughout this period of time will be given to the student upon their return to school.
